Guided Walks in the Nant Gwynant Valley
Time: 13.00 to 17.00
Cost: TBC
August 5 and 26 - walk around the lower farm
Join us for a walk around the lower parts of the farm to discuss the various factors influencing decisions on a conservation hill farm. We’ll walk along a stretch of the Glaslyn river, as well as Nant Gwynant lake, where wildflowers and trees are of high conservation value. On our return through the farm’s fields and woodlands, we will take a look at the impact the sheep, cattle, and feral goats have on these habitats.

July 29, August 19
Join us for an afternoon of hiking up and down a couple of the farm’s less visited streams and rivers. We’ll follow a stream up into the hanging bog of Bylchau Terfyn and discuss conservation grazing using sheep and cattle to restore bog and heathland habitats. Then, we’ll cut across the farm and climb up into open pine and oak woodlands where we will talk about woodland management, the farm’s objectives, and how to achieve these with sheep, cattle, feral goats, and….pigs?
